Renewable energies are making their way into practically all sectors of technology. When it comes to the home, more and more people are choosing to install solar panels in their homes, a decision that in the long run will always save a good sum of money for the family. Repsol and Telefónica have decided that it was time to enter this market together, and for this reason they have created Solar360. We tell you more about this joint venture.
This joint venture aims to develop the voltaic self-consumption businessthat is, promoting the consumption of energy produced in photovoltaic installations that we have installed in our home or in our block if we live in a flat.
This will be the new Solar360
This new company will have a form of joint venture. What this type of association seeks is to maintain the individuality of the two companies, but both contribute their resources to offer the services that Solar360 offers in this case. In this case, Telefónica brings to Solar360 its great experience in the technology sector and its IoT (Internet of Things) capabilities so that the facilities have a level of optimization much higher than the rest of the market.
If we talk about energy resources, Repsol is a benchmark, and for this reason it adds its experience in self-consumption and multi-energy in Spain, so that customers will be able to have an energy rate that complements the energy that your photovoltaic panels will produce. Both companies will provide customers with a new management team that will cover all customer needs, both in terms of installation and maintenance of solar panels.

Of course, Solar360 will also resolve all customer questions regarding power generation or even subsidies associated with photovoltaic installations. The service will include personalized after-sales service and maintenance of the installation throughout its useful life. The offer will be available this month of June, and will be personalized so that each customer only pays what he needs and not one euro more. Solar360 will not only work for homes, but also for business communities and SMEs of all kinds.
Zero net emissions in 2025 as a goal
The creation of this new Joint Venture is very much in line with what Movistar has been announcing for some years, and that is that it aims to be a company that uses 100% renewable energy in the short term. In the words of Emilio Gayopresident of Telefónica Spain:
Telefónica is committed to being a 100% renewable company and achieve the goal of zero net emissions in 2025. Currently, we already use photovoltaic energy in our own centers and we want to contribute our operational and technological capabilities to guarantee Solar360 customers the best service. We are sure that our alliance with Repsol, market leader in energy solutions, guarantees us future success.
The logo of this new company, which heads this article, combines the corporate colors of both companies, reflecting the complete value proposition provided by the alliance between Movistar and Repsol, and which opens the door to explore opportunities to promote other energy services at home and in business.
